Barbara Gundlach (b. 1971, Hamburg, Germany) is a conceptual artist and recent graduate of the International Center of Photography (ICP) in Multi Media Narrative. Previously she studied film and cinema at New York University, and received her MA in history and film from Columbia University. Before her move to New York, Barbara finished her studies in law at the Humbold University in Berlin and the Maximilian University in Munich, Germany. While based in Munich, Barbara worked on documentaries for Discovery Channel Germany and was part of the development and marketing team, with a focus on online education of global reach. After finishing graduate school in New York she continued to work in film production. To further pursue her passion for free global art education, Barbara joined Art21.org in its first season as a member of the board. As a member the development and educational teams she helped create today’s largest open-access global online art education platform. Barbara currently lives and works in New York City and Upstate NY.
